Anyone who knows me, understands that I have lots of opinions and ideas about practically everything I observe (One of my defining characteristics is that I think I can improve upon just about everything.). Search engines are no exception and I am currently experimenting with what I feel are the best web IR techniques/algorithms (like BM25, Topic Sensitive PageRank, etc.) Yep, I'm designing my own search index & sorting algorithm(s). Have I bit off more than I can chew with this one? I hope so; this madness has to stop somewhere!

I have several articles and white papers planned for release in '07. Here's what's on the menu:
- Co-authoring project with Stoney DeGeyter. This will be a definitive guide to a crucial aspect of search marketing.
- Website Architecture Picture book: Compiling my most telling VLG link graphs to create this unique guide to identification of website quality factors via visual link geometry.
- Citation Analysis Trends in Modern Search Engines: A whitepaper that discusses the results of my research in this area.
Questions and Observations
(That haunt my dreams and disturb my sleep.)
- Assumption: The web is a real-time digital model of the state of humanity. Implications: What are the predictive powers inherent in this model? How is this being explored? Who is exploring this?
- Assumption: Consciousness is the product of hyper-redundant neural structures at work. Implications: Can the Internet be described as an always active hyper-redundant neural architecture? What would Internet sentience/self-awareness entail?
- CIRCA, the semantic architecture created by Applied Semantics is incredibly fascinating. I frequently scour the Internet for any information available on this breakthrough technology. I would very much like to develop a private implementation based upon their patent documents. A fully functional CIRCA-like retrieval system could reveal so much about the sociolinguistic mechanics of western man. What an exciting toy that would be.
- Searcher Needs | Search Engine Delivery/Fulfillment | SEO Intent/Methodology : If we plot these concepts as vectors; will they find a common intersect given a long enough time-line? In what type of space would we plot these vectors? How is the direction of each vector and/or the probability of intersect affected by external phenomenon (For example Google trading above $600 per share, or below $200 per share. Or possibly the launch of a new and very popular brand. Or the start of a serious military conflict.)
- Do universal principles of harmonious form and function (such as PHI) apply to digital architectures? If so how? How would one write python source code in such a way that it expressed proportions of 1.6180339...?
